ILA Egypt, a new pioneering company in the areas of cloud-based and M2M services provisioning in the Middle East and Africa, sponsored and participated in the Automation Technology exhibition 2012 held in Cairo, Egypt from the 6th to 8th of May 2012.

During the exhibition, ILA Egypt presented five of its M2M-based range of services: 1) Vehicles Safety, 2) Vehicle Tracking, 3) Mobile Workforce Tracking, 4) Student Outdoor Safety and 5) Smart Lock for Access Control services. ILA Egypt has strategic partnerships with international suppliers of Smart Buildings, Vehicles Safety, Tracking and Personal Safety services which are offered in the Middle East and African markets through ILA Egypt’s cloud infrastructure and platforms.

ILA Egypt offers the Student Outdoor Safety service which provides students’ and children’s safety during their school bus trips. The service depends on the use of an RFID-GPRS integrated smart device that is installed inside the school bus. Students carry their personalized RFID cards which are then read by the device and automatically recording the presence of the students inside the bus and sending automatic SMS messages to parents and school administration. The service comes in a time where the Egyptian community is in need for higher security solutions to ensure the safety of children on the road.

Etisalat today announced the launch of its ‘Mobile Work Force Management Solution’ in collaboration with Syclo, the leading provider in Enterprise Mobility for businesses and consumers. The Mobile Workforce Management Solution will enable businesses to improve field worker efficiency and communication while leveraging the ubiquity of mobile devices to streamline work management predominantly in the areas business operations such as Field Force Management, Inventory Management, workflow approvals, IT Asset management, fleet management and facilities management.

The Mobile Work Force Management Solution will be integrated with multiple backend systems such as SAP, Maximo, Oracle, Esri and many more. The solution also has capabilities to run on multiple devices with true cross-platform support that, unlike other solutions, doesn’t require generating and maintaining separate code for each device platform. Moreover, it can be integrated with peripherals such as GIS, GPS, Barcode scanning, RFID and Bluetooth.

The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority "TRA" launched a public consultation SRD document for reviewing TRA Regulations of Short Range Devices V1.0 dated 5 August 2009.

The TRA indicate that the purpose of this document is to invite comments from stakeholders regarding the TRA’s intention to review and revise the issued TRA Regulations - Short Range Devices in accordance with the Telecom Law.
