| 9:15 AM | Enhancing the Customer Experience With RFID Common People, an independent concept store in Mexico City, is using RFID to enhance the customer experience, and to provide suppliers with better inventory data. The store sells a wide variety of goods, including books, music CDs, shoes, clothing, accessories and works of art. As goods arrive at the store, each item receives an RFID label and is entered into an inventory-management system. The tagged products are then moved out to the sales floor. A touch screen in the dressing rooms welcomes customers and displays an icon that, when clicked, will summon a sales associate. When a customer hangs up garments that he or she wants to try on in the dressing room, those items' RFID tags are read, and images of the clothing are displayed on the touch screen. The screen then displays recommended accessories, and the shopper can click on any of them to obtain additional information, such as their manufacturer and cost. The customer can also send an e-mail containing images of the products to friends and relatives, along with the prices, store address and other information. Learn how the firm uses the system to take inventory once a week, enabling the company to know when items require replenishment. Hear how the accurate, up-to-date inventory information is uploaded to a secure Web site, where suppliers can log in and how they can view what is currently in stock. Speaker: Takeaways: |
| 10:00 AM | Using RFID to Improve Order Management and Inventory Accuracy Liverpool, a Mexican department store chain with 76 locations, has expanded its RFID-tagging program, which it rolled out in late 2007 after two years of testing. Since that time, more than 2,300 of the retailer's suppliers have begun shipping their products in tagged plastic totes to the company's main distribution center, where the EPC Gen 2 passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) tags are read and used to confirm incoming shipments, as well as ready them for distribution to retail stores. In this session, hear how 200 suppliers that receive goods in single-use cardboard cartons are also tagging their shipments, thus enabling the firm to leverage its RFID infrastructure for all incoming products at the DC. The retailer estimates that the suppliers will apply 3 million tags to single-use cartons annually. Speaker: Takeaways: |
| 10:45 AM | Tracking Garments From Factory to Store With RFID A children's fashion company is using an RFID system to track the items it distributes as they arrive from the factory, as well as when they are inspected, stored and then shipped to a retailer. The tags are also being tracked by a department-store chain that sells the firm's products at its 68 Mexican locations. The system, which is being utilized to resolve inventory inaccuracies, is in use at a facility where its garments are designed, inspected, stored and shipped. Learn how RFID is being employed to speed the movement of merchandise by making inventory easier to locate and ship. Speaker: Takeaways: |

| 12:00 PM | NP Collection Benefits RFID in Logistics and Stores NP Collection, a women's clothing brand in Finland, has implemented an RFID project spanning the entire supply chain. At its Finland store, the firm extended its RFID system to the sales floor. The company—which sells women's fashion at 500 retail locations throughout Scandinavia and Russia, as well as at eight of its own stores—created what it believes to be the next-generation retail model. In each store, wall-mounted touch screens in dressing rooms and at store-floor kiosks (equipped with RFID sensors) encourage customers to browse additional product information, and have alternative products or sizes brought to them. At the onset of the project, NP installed RFID readers at its distribution center, thereby reducing errors and the amount of time that workers spent manually checking garments to ensure that the correct products were moved to the proper locations. Learn how the company implemented a successful RFID project for the entire supply chain, as well as an innovative retail store solution that includes RFID sensor-equipped fitting rooms, sales counters and security gates. Moreover, NP Collection will share the next phases of the deployment. Speakers: Takeaways: |
| 12:45 PM | How RFID Solutions Drive New Business Benefits RFID hardware has become more reliable over the past few years, enabling companies to take advantage of RFID data in new and powerful ways. Software solutions are enabling firms to reengineer processes and deliver more value. In this session, our panel of experts will explain how businesses are leveraging these new capabilities. | 3:00 PM | Tracking and Managing Assets With RFID Texoma Medical Center, an acute-care hospital located in in the U.S., is utilizing an enterprise-wide real-time locating system (RTLS) to track and manage mobile medical equipment and monitor temperature-sensitive assets. In this session, learn how the hospital is lowering costs in the areas of capital budget reallocation and monthly rental savings, while reducing the incidence of lost or missing assets. And hear how the medical center is using temperature-monitoring tags to proactively manage the temperatures of nourishment and medication refrigerators throughout its facility. Speaker: |
| 3:45 PM | Improving Operational Efficiency in the Supply Chain Colcafé, part of Grupo Nutresa, offers a wide range of Colombian coffee products, along with a variety of packaging presentations to reach all sales channels. Headquartered in Colombia, Grupo Nutresa comprises more than 44 businesses, with 33 production facilities operating in 8 countries. Learn how the company worked with LOGyCA and GS1 Colombia to implement RFID EPC technology within liquid-filled metal containers. Hear how the solution is used to ensure the security of Colcafé's products and the supply chain, as well as provide online traceability. Speaker: |

| 5:00 PM | Improving Asset and Inventory Control With RFID Keeping an accurate inventory is a key part of managing any business. Maintaining inaccurate records can prevent corporations from having the correct amounts of their assets in stock—and, most importantly, it can have an impact on financial records and taxes. In January 2011, a national financial-services company sought help from Steelcase Mexico in reconfiguring its 107,000-square-foot campus to accommodate a staff of 1,100. The firm chose an RFID-enabled solution that provided full control of assets going out of the company's prior site and into its new location, utilizing a full inventory system. Hear how Steelcase Mexico integrated RFID into the services it provided to its client, and how it ensured a smooth transition from the old facility to the new building. Speaker: Takeaways: |
| 5:45 PM | Calculating the ROI of a Hospital RTLS RFID Journal has compiled the results of real-world RFID deployments to create a calculator that enables health-care providers to estimate the benefits they can achieve from tracking mobile medical equipment using a real-time location system (RTLS) based on radio frequency identification technologies. The calculator allows health-care companies to enter information regarding the number of units of various types of mobile medical equipment that they would like to track, as well as their current estimated asset-utilization rate and data about the number of items replaced or rented annually. The tool then applies assumptions based on information from hospitals that have already deployed an RTLS solution. Speaker: Takeaways: |
