The 4th Arab Conference for Industrial Information and Networks have been organized by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) in conjunction with Saudi Arabia Ministry of trade and industry, Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and Islamic Development Bank during the period of 20 - 22 Dec. 2009, under the auspices of king Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

Tagit release its custom RFID enabled consignment box for jewelery wholesale

Tagit jewelery boxDubai based RFID solutions company Tagit released a new custom RFID enabled consignment box for Jewellery Wholesale safety.

The new Tagit solution provide ccounting data for up to 200 jewellery items in split seconds with tag data displayed on computer screen continuously, this help retailers track each detailed item and keep on customers follow without stresses.

The Tagit Consignment Box is an RF Shielded platform allows the users to put up to 10 trays in two rows of 5 carrying about 6 pieces each. Equipped with two circularly polarized patch arrays, and work with Mono-static or Bi-static readers.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and UAE start using GMS for postal service.

 Finally 4 regional arab countries "Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates" and other 16 countries started this week using the UN Universal Postal Union's new Global Monitoring System (GMS) to evaluate the quality of their letter-post service using Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.

Under this from now until December 2009, in a first phase of the project, 530 independent panellists from 38 countries will send 24,000 test letters containing RFID tags through 45 postal facilities worldwide. The data collected as the test letters pass through special gates would be transmitted to the UPU and used to help postal operators identify service failures and improve operational efficiency.

Three new Apple patents applications unearthed later suggest a range of new features that may be included in the next generation iPhone, RFID tag read authentication.iphone rfid reader

 Apple suggests that a RFID antenna could be placed in the touch sensor panel itself, allowing it to also be used as a RFID reader. As RFID tags become more common, this could add a useful function to future touch screen devices suggests MacRumors.
